One of the most versatile and most scientifically researched essential oil of tea tree is a must have in your fragrant drug set. Antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal and immune system stimulating powerful tea tree essential oil can be used directly on the skin, if necessary. Therapeutic properties of tea tree were already known to Australian aborigines a few hundred years ago. From the bark of a tea tree, aborigines used to build sheds, canoes, make knife pouches and they used to chew freshly cut tea tree leaves in case of cold, sore throat or any infectious disease. Tea tree leaves have also been widely used to treat wounds. In Europe, tea tree appeared back in 1927 and researchers immediately evaluated the therapeutic properties of this plant. During World War II, soldiers who fought in tropics used tea tree as a remedy. Today, tea tree essential oil is widely known and used in dentistry, cosmetics, perfumery and chemical industry. Tea tree essential oil is used for the prevention of colds, for care of damaged, infected, rash affected skin, the reduction of viral diseases on skin, and a strong antiseptic in cleaning home surfaces and air during epidemics. The aroma of tea tree essential oil is intense, herbal, medicinal with a slight menthol spice. It is perfect with essential oils such as lavender, lemon, radiata and staigeriana eucalyptus, rosemary, thyme, bergamot, grapefruit, peppermint and lemongrass. The scent of tea tree is an excellent repellent, so it is often included in mosquito and tick repellent products. Tea tree essential oil is safe for babies from 6 months and the whole family. During pregnancy use it only if necessary, but it is safe while nursing.

If you are ill or you feel like catching a cold, diffuse tea tree essential oil in an electric diffuser. Essential oils clean the air and prevent the spread of infection indoors. Add 6 8 drops of essential oil to the diffuser during the day, 3 4 drops at night. Keep in mind that intense aromas can disturb a restful night sleep.
 Try the following aromatherapy synergies:
– Virus Killer Genus: 2 drops of tea tree, 2 drops of eucalyptus radiata and 4 drops of lemongrass essential oils.
– In case of flu, pneumonia or with severe cough (adults only!): 3 drops of tea tree, 3 drops of eucalyptus radiata and 3 drops of rosemary essential oils.
– For immunity: 2 drops of tea tree, 2 drops of thyme and 4 drops of lemon essential oils.
– Clean air: 2 drops of tea tree, 3 drops of bergamot and 3 drops of grapefruit essential oils.
If you dont have an electric diffuser make your own spray: in a dark glass bottle add 100ml of water and 50 drops of tea tree essential oil, screw on the nozzle, vigorously shake the bottle, and spray as needed. Shake every time before using as essential oils are insoluble.
Make your own indoor spray Virus Killer Genus: to a dark glass bottle with 100ml of water add 10 drops of tea tree, 10 drops of eucalyptus radiata and 25 drops of lemongrass essential oils. Shake well each time of use and spray as needed.
During epidemics, colds and infectious diseases, add 10 drop of PURE tea tree essential oil to the bucket of water, dip the cloth or a mop into the bucket and clean your furniture surfaces and floors! It will clean the surfaces and will stop the growth of infection.
